Q. How are you paid?

A. Fees are discussed with clients on request, or at the end of an initial consultation (once we understand your needs and goals).  You will never receive an invoice from us without being made aware of it prior to receiving the service.  Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited is a fee based business.  When managing your money, we believe that transparent fees that are time based or on agreed price / percentage of funds under management or delivery of a services is the preference of our clients.  Where brokerage is earned, the levels of brokerage is disclosed as well.  No commision is recieved for investment products over and above the specified percentages agreed with you as our client. 

You need to know that our advice is based on your needs, not our income.

For insurances products that we recommend to you, Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited may receive fees or commission payments from the product providers.  All fees and remuneration receivable by Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited will vary, depending upon the products and services that you choose, however you will be aware of them all.

This is best outlined in Tobias Taylor’s disclosure document that is available on request and free of charge.  We welcome the question “how much do you earn for this?”

Q. How is my money handled?

A. No client funds are accepted in either Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited or our own name and accordingly we are not audited for this activity.
As we do not accept client funds in our own name, no trust account is operated.  Either Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited or our advisors will deliver client funds to the destination specified by the client payment or client instruction and will not use client funds for any other purpose.

Unless otherwise arranged at the time of the transaction, cheques for all investments should be:

  • crossed “Not Transferable – A/C Payee Only”
  • mailed  or delivered to PO Box 1040, Hastings 4156; and
  • Made payable to a trust account to be advised depending on fund manager used.  This fund manager will operate cash management and application accounts for Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited clients.

Q. Is my money safe?

A. All investments have some level of risk.  It is very much our job to ensure that you are aware of these risks at all times.  Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited and its associated suppliers of research and services take the utmost care and diligence in researching assets for our clients, however projected returns can not be guaranteed by Barnes Mossman Financial Services Limited.

It is our preference that you ask, ask and ask again, any questions you may have.
