Tony Maidens is an Authorised Financial Advisor (AFA) in accordance with the Financial Advisors Act 2008. His Financial Services Provider number is FSP 20941.
Tony has worked in the financial services since 1995 where he started as an adviser for National Mutual in Hastings. In 1999 he moved to Auckland and specialised as an insurance adviser providing risk solutions to business owners and families. With a growing family came a move back to Hawkes Bay in 2003 where he continued as an adviser.
Tony is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) which is the financial planning designation recognised internationally as the highest credential for financial planning. Tony also holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Personal Financial Planning) from Massey University.
Married to Kathy they have three children – Corey, Lucas and Bonnie. Tony is a Trustee of the Jarrod Cunningham Youth Sports Trust and is currently Chairman of the Havelock North Junior Rugby Club.
A former Hawke’s Bay Magpie and New Zealand 7’s rugby player, Tony is a keen sports follower and enjoys getting involved with any outdoor activities including mountain biking, surfing and rugby.
“Essentially, I buy insurance on behalf of my clients. I do this by advising you of the different types of insurance available, discussing with you why you may or may not benefit from the different components and then help you buy it. Your risk portfolio is then reviewed annually to ensure that you have the best possible mix of price and quality, however price and quality mean nothing if claims aren’t paid, so my role is also to ensure we have strong relationships with insurers”.
